Barça Set to Play First Match at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend
The club confirmed their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Not all seats will be available though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. Once fully finished, it will accommodate almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Barça announced finished work included a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they are seeking authorization by UEFA to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
