Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil represent the early names under consideration to replace the former manager as manager of Wolves.

Pereira was sacked on the weekend following the team's 10-match winless start to the Premier League season.

Furthermore both candidates - both of who have previous links to the team - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves leadership.

Edwards is presently at another club, which would create a possible obstacle to his hiring at Molineux.

However the ex- Luton manager - who made more than 100 of games for Wolves during his time as a player - is said to be a leading candidate for the position.

The mid-career manager is said to have backing from the Wolves directors as they begin the process of hiring a new manager.

Gary O'Neil is also emerging as a surprise candidate, even though he would be a surprising appointment given he was sacked by Wolves in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United midfielder is out of work meaning Wolves would not be required to pay any compensation.
